Weekend salsa
The weekend was great. Friday evening was company’s happy hour. 6 F1 tickets were given away during lucky draw but I wasn’t lucky. Sigh! Had to intro myself in front of the staff. Made them laugh out loud once during my speech which is good, knowing for a fact that I’m no stand up comedian. The people are good so far; touch wood, except for Sore Arse anyway. Went off to the hairdresser and cropped my hair short.
The rest of the evening was spent channel surfing at home. Yeah, from not having astro at home to gaining absolute control over the remote is a bliss. But I’m bored of it now. Only some shows interest me and most of the time, I just flip through the channel until bedtime.
Saturday…oh yes, Saturday was really cool. Got squashed in the commuter. Irritated Kameeni by asking repeatedly, 'Are we there yet’ like the donkey in Shrek, he he! And she was actually gasping for breath in the real overcrowded commuter…
The whole gang, well not whole, about 13 of us met up at Chilli’s in Midvalley and yakked away, while wolfing down the awesome food. That was my first time in Chilli’s by the way and I loved the food. I wonder why it’s called Chilli’s. The food wasn’t very spicy.
Felt a pang when we left though. We used to go together from campus to Midvalley together. Now, we come from all directions, meet and head different directions after that. Life seems to have it’s own way of spinning.
After the meet up, I followed my boyfriend to Shah Alam stadium to watch the D1 Drift competition on the racing track. Some of the guys were pretty awesome. A Nissan Cefiro won the race. I had a great time feasting my eyes on some real cool cars, Toyota Celica, Nissan Skyline, RX7, …Yum!
Best of all, there were guest appearance by MTV’s ( I think it’s MTV’s) ‘Pimp my ride’ dudes, Alex and Big Dane. They are here to find local cars in Malaysia to be modified. So those of you with junks stored in the garage, better take it out for a drive, just in case you get spotted for a free car make-over. I only watched the show once and it rocks!
Competition ended at around 8.30pm. Legs sore from all the standing I had to do, heading home, took a hot bath and slept like a baby.
Sunday was spent shopping for some essentials and cleaning up the room.
Monday, well, Monday hmmmm…reached home after work only at 9pm. Dead tired. Slept like a baby. Today is another day!
Have a good week folks!
(P/s1: In the D1 Drift race, there was not even one single Indian guy in the competition. We Indians seem to be lacking backward in most things. It’s time for leadership change and to come out from our shell to start exploring different lifestyle and technology. We have to get involved in sports, race, competitions etc etc…but then, who am I kidding? Indians shun those who even study for IT, let alone start tinkering with cars…duh!)
(P/s2: I know I said I will elaborate on Sore Arse but I think that guy got my hint and left me alone. He doesn’t even lift his head to look at me when we cross paths. He just hangs his head down which is good. Since he left me alone, I shall do the same.)
